Harnessing Brainwaves at VOV 2022

Stella, Jaan and Karen were at the 50th anniversary of VOV, the Belgian network for L&D professionals and it was great to be back face to face with fellow learning enthusiasts. People were happy to be in touch again after our enforced separation.

Visitors to our stand were greeted with brains, the first glimpse of our new ‘upskilling accelerator’ and the chance to win a signed copy of 'Neuroscience for Learning and Development'. To do that they had to bust some brain myths.  We’re happy to announce that Annelies Wolfs won the prize and we hope you find the book useful.

Jaan, Karen and Stella listened a lot and shared their expertise generously with the visitors to the exhibition. And of course we visited other stands and workshops to learn for ourselves.

Stella’s Harnessing Brainwaves workshop was full of chatter, collaboration and copious ideas on how to improve people’s experience of learning at work. Everyone took part in our Mexican Brain Wave to demonstrate how 5 different types of electrical activity in our brains impact on sleep, daydreaming, memory, ‘aha’ moments and attention – all vital ingredients for effective learning. Audience participation was high and we heard that people enjoyed the interactivity and connection – music to our ears!

The day ended with drinks and canapes to celebrate the VOV anniversary. Thank you all for enabling us to finally come together.

We’re now busy following up with friends old and new and of course looking forward to next year.
